When we invest in training, it’s essential to get our money’s worth, and the best way to do that is to make sure we pick the right kind of training.

Within the scope of Airbus Material Management Services, there are different kinds of training, depending on the level of knowledge you want to achieve and the type of course you’re looking for. Picking the right type of training boils down to answering two questions:

  1. What is your level of expertise, and what do you want to learn?
  2. Are you looking for open or customised training?

So let’s look at the training from these two perspectives:

What do you want to learn?

There are two main types of seminars in Airbus Material Management Services: Core seminars and specialisation seminars.

The Core Seminars are directly connected to your existing knowledge of material management. You select one of them, depending on your current level of expertise.

If, on the other hand, you want to become more proficient within a specific part of your operations, then you pick one (or more) of the specialisation classes.

Let’s take a closer look:

Core seminars

No matter if you are a newcomer to the aviation industry, someone who has worked a few years or have a lot of experience and knowledge, there are core seminars for you. So it’s easy to find one that matches your current level of expertise and job profile.

Do you want open or customised training?

If you are an individual looking to advance your own knowledge, or you represent a company that wants to provide training for a limited number of employees, an open course is the best choice. On the other hand, if you are looking for training for several people and want it to take place on your own premises, then customised training is the way to go.

Open courses

This is a fixed seminar with an agenda that has been decided beforehand by Airbus Material Management Seminars, and can’t be adjusted. Both Core seminars and Specialisation seminars are available as open courses. Courses are held at pre-decided dates and locations - in Hamburg, Germany, or at locations in South East Asia, China, America and Australia.

All airlines, as well as MRO customers and partners, can book seats at an open course. The price covers the tuition fee, training material, transport arrangements during the course, catering and a social event.

Customised training

Our customised courses are scheduled in coordination with the customer. The content, duration and set-up is tailored according to your needs and requirements and held at your facility.

The key benefits of customised training seminars are that they are highly efficient since we tailor them to your exact needs, you get the training at your preferred location, and you can customise the schedule. Also, you will save time and money by having the trainers come to you rather than sending your employees on a journey.

Courses like this are part of our Spares Mobile Classroom, and work like this:

You select topics from a list of the different modules offered by Airbus Material Management Seminars. Depending on what you believe your employees need to learn, we help you structure the seminar and also find the right trainers.

The price depends on the length of the course, as well as on the travel and accommodation costs for the Satair trainers that are involved. Up to 24 people can attend, and the higher the number, the less you pay per participant. In our experience, you need a minimum of 10 people to get a reasonable cost per attendee. So if you want to train less than that, an open course might be a better solution.
